My vintage Empire Turntable manual talks about lubriing the platters main spindle bearing with a light machine oil “like 3 in1 or similar“. This of course is way before synthetics came on the market so back in the 70’s, this is what I used. I have been using Liquid Bearings for the past 5 years or so and what a difference.
